Ready. Set. Go. 2022!! We are officially in 2022 so let’s get right to continuing to be our best self for ourselves and for those around us! Be your own biggest fan! Don’t try to be anyone but yourself – your best self! Hopefully these final hacks bring out your best energy, your best smile, your best joy ..
Lifestyle – Be intentional! if you want to get up early, set your alarm and actually get out of bed (with a plan, with clothes laid out etc ..). If you want to eat healthy, then purchase healthy food – wash fruit and veggies and have them at the ready. Toss the foods which don’t align with your goals. If you want to spend more time with family or friends, then schedule it into your calendar and make it a priority. Match your words with action the best that you can and as often as you can. Forgive yourself when you slip up – because we will all slip up – but aim to live with intention as much as possible.
Fitness – fit your fitness into your daily “to-do’s”. If you have a dog, then try to jog with your dog sometimes to fit in your exercise and your pup’s exercise. Walk your kids to school then maybe jog home. Take the stairs. Exercise (could be air squats, jumping jacks, lunges, push ups) while your kids are at their after-school sports or clubs. Incorporate stretching into playing with your kids -have them stretch too at the same time. Schedule “walking meetings” for work. Walk and talk on the phone. Make fitness happen by fitness multi-tasking.
Products – if you have a dog and are thinking about jogging with your pup, then I suggest a waist belt and hook-on leash for hands-free running. My belt and leash is from Nathan Sport – the K9 waist belt and leash – check it out here!. That said, I started running with Hadley on a traditional leash held in my hand to “coach” her how to run beside me. Another great product whether you own a dog or not, is a headlamp. We spend so much time walking or jogging in the dark these days that a headlamp helps you see and be seen!! I use mine several times per day – morning and evening walks and also on foggy mornings. I even use it to read in bed!! I bring it on every trip so that I can actually see what is at my feet while on an airplane!!! I use the Nathan Luna Fire – you can find it here!
