Lisa
Having experienced every possible situation in racing and training throughout my career – nutritional, mental and physical – coached athletes have a direct link to some of the best training and racing knowledge available in sport. With over 20 years devoted to triathlon and 33 IRONMAN races, Lisa is eager to help athletes develop a lifelong love for sport.
Lisa initially balanced racing as a professional athlete with a full-time teaching career and so she understands the demands that most age group athletes have in their daily routines.
Lisa will provide you with a completely personalized program specific to your life and revolving around your life – if you have a ‘life situation’ that comes up, the necessary changes will be made to make your training program work for you. Athletes will be assisted with selecting races, mental preparation, race visualization and post-race analysis. Communication is open and encouraged via email and phone.
Dave
Sport and Triathlon have been a huge part of Dave’s life. In high school, he played basketball and volleyball and ran cross country and track. At University, he swam on the Varsity swim team. While at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, Dave began to train for triathlons.
Dave has a Bachelor in Education and is a qualified physical education teacher specializing in exercise physiology. His triathlon racing experience dates back to 1990 when he represented Canada at the Commonwealth Games. He has grown and developed with triathlon for the past twenty plus years first as an athlete, then as a teacher and now as a coach.
Dave competed in three full Ironman events and qualified for the Hawaii Ironman each time with a personal best of 10:16 in Kona and a marathon best of 3:15 in Ironman New Zealand. Dave also represented Canada at several ITU World Championships.
Dave lived for ten years in New Zealand teaching physical education at one of New Zealand’s top private schools. There, he coached swimming and triathlon. His triathlon team won multiple national championships. Dave also mentored several of New Zealand’s youth who then went on to compete and win ITU World Cup races and represent NZ at the Olympic Games. More recently Dave has coached many age group athletes to personal bests and Kona qualifications. Dave also travels around the world coaching swimming to elite youth swimmers with Peak Performance Swim Camps (www.swimcamp.com).
Dave experienced the sport of triathlon and Ironman triathlons in the days before aero bars and Power Bars. When you combine his years of competing internationally and coaching athletes of all ages with his teaching experience, he is well qualified to be your motivator and coach.
Your plan will be completely personalized based on your weekly feedback and will be tailored to best suit your life and increasing fitness. This is not a regurgitated program done months in advance from a database of workouts. The workouts are suited to your individual development and your goals.
Dave believes communication between athlete and coach is the key ingredient to a successful partnership. Athletes can schedule a time to speak with Dave or they can communicate by email. Contact Dave to begin your journey to personal excellence.
