Welcome to 2012! I cannot believe how time has flown! I did manage a few races last year with the highlight being the Boston Marathon! It truly was fantastic. I did very little running leading up to this event – I ran 3 days per week – 1 hill interval session, 1 long run of 90 min to 2 hours and one fartlek run with strides or steady work. I did a few easy fun runs with Fenway but I really had a short lead up to the event which was likely good since I stayed pretty healthy! Boston is everything you can imagine – people cheering from start to finish – lots of downhill – some uphill at 18 or 19 miles – and an enthusiastic finish line. I love Boston so I am pretty bias but it was an incredible event and I got share some good bonding time with my Saucony friends since head office is based close by.

This year will be exciting. Dave and I are coaching some great fun athletes and we are going to be with them every step of the way with their preparations for Ironman and Ironman 70.3. Ironman is launching 2 new Ironman events in Mont-Tremblant and I very involved in that. And I will be doing the commentary for the Olympics for CTV for both the men’s and women’s marathons and swimming marathons. The book has not even begun yet but I will get there.
