On June 21st
and 22nd, I am participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer
(www.conquercancer.ca)
with the Steve Bauer and Lawrence Zimmering team. We are riding to
raise money for cancer research at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
This is a two day ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls on day one and
back home on day two. Apparently we are going to have a hammer fest at
the end of day one in Niagara Falls – I suppose that can act as my
typical transition run off the bike!! And I am not exactly sure if I
will survive the camping on night one – camping to me is hiking all
day and then sleeping at Deerhurst!
This ride is just one
of the many ways we can use our gift of sport to give a gift to people
who we don’t even know who are battling cancer or may one day battle
cancer. We could all be in that boat one day and now is my
opportunity to use my legs and my heart and lungs for a reason other
than racing. If you would like to ride this race through me by making
